Daniel began his career as a recording artist on Warner Brothers Records.
His first release as an artist and producer was the Curtis Mayfield Tribute Album which included tracks from Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, and Eric Clapton — including a track that Daniel Produced with Gary Katz (Steely Dan) — which featured Curtis Mayfield - a remake of “Let’s Do it Again”.
Daniel played congas on that track and was the recording engineer for Curtis Mayfield's vocal performance in Atlanta.
Daniel was one of the first ProTools engineers in NYC — and worked with such artists as Wax Poetic featuring Norah Jones, Elephant Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Olu Dara, Mos Def, Blues Traveler, Dr. John, Cassandra Wilson, and many others.
His label credits include Rawkus Records, Atlantic Records, Ultra Records, and countless other major and independent releases.
Daniel also has extensive music placements in both Hollywood and Sundance films including Belly, Slowburn, Blue Crush, Wordwars, Face and other major and independent films and TV projects.
Daniel taught Mastering and FX at SAE New York as senior instructor for over 5 years, and went on to create the Mixing and Mastering Program for Dubspot — both in NYC and online.
In 2016, Daniel created nextlevelsound.com, a complete online music production school that features up-to-date video content and live online training from successful industry veterans who have a passion for sharing knowledge.
