He has unleashed singles, remixes, and worldwide platinum records with the likes of Pendulum, Destroid, Conspirator, Blood Drums, ill.Gates, and Mr. Bill while also touring worldwide and giving back to producers everywhere.
KJ Sawka, a grammy nominated, platinum recording artist has been playing drums, producing and teaching for over 30 years. He has done extensive work with countless artists such as BT, Amon Tobin, Illenium, Andy Summers of the Police, Michael Shrieve of Santana, and created the first contestant-band to perform on American Idol with 2007 runner-up Blake Lewis; he has played numerous TV shows such as Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen Degeneres to name a few. With almost 100 releases and multiple number one records and sample packs, he has been at the forefront of music production, drum technology and taken many producers to main stages with electronic/live technology and connectivity.
Kevin Joseph Sawka was born October 10, 1977 in Seattle, Washington. Kevin attended Heritage Christian School up until 4th grade, when he moved to Kenmore Elementary School. At an early age Kevin was involved in sports, as a lot of young people are, excelling in baseball and soccer. Due to an accident with an Exacto knife Kevin decided to sideline his catchers mitt and exchange it for drums. His middle school years were spent at Lake Stevens Middle School for 7th-8th grades and 9th grade at Skyview Middle School. While in middle school Kevin joined the school bands, where he excelled in what else but the drums. His high school years were spent at Bothell High School where he continued his love for music. In 10th grade he met up with future bandmate, bass player, Jeremy Lightfoot.
