I've tried/used this on three sessions since I got it, one of which was done. One session with a competitor's Helios emu (with Pie compressor), one with PIA's SSL Console and one with PIA's N Console on every track. The new Townhouse Buss Compressor worked very well with each. I tried each one with and without the Mastering Desk behind it in a "Mastering" track. They paired up very well. I had been using the VSC2 or the Alpha most of the time, sending it into one of a few Limiters from there. Sometimes the XL V2 or one of several competitors' limiters. The Townhouse and Mastering Desk combination is very quick and effective compared to anything else I've used. I can get to that 99% point in just a few minutes. (fwiw - Note that all three sessions I used it on were early 1970's style efforts, and I say all of this without any experience on the analog gear they emulate.)

This is the best buss comp I've tried so far. I have demoed A/B'd several over the years. I like this better the Cytomic, Waves SSL Comp, etc. Prior to this I was using Logic's SSL comp (which is just as good as the Waves SSL comp) and Waves' Kramer PIE comp (which sounds great when set lightly to get 1-2 dB of comp). The bx_townhouse is similar to the PIE in terms of adding vintage character, except it does a superior job of managing the transients and low end. It also has a nicer overall 'shine' to it.

Hi guys ! Ok i'm always using bus compression on the master bus and was happy with what i was using , then i saw an add for the townhouse comp . I then decided to try on the same mix , every bus compressor that i had to see if there was a difference . As soon as i put the townhouse bus compressor i could hear the difference ! all the other ones we're slightly reducing the stereo image and we're making my mix kinda thin and mid range-e , not the townhouse !
