I decided to give this unassuming plug a try. I never expected it to be THIS GOOD. I have tracks I am producing for a lovely singer songwriter. Her vocals sound very good without the EQ4... but when I engage the plug, the detail and character of her intonation just pop... without any harsh highs. To everyone out there... get this plug. It is the secret sauce.

Maag 4 is one of my favorite plugins. I always use it with my vocal bus. It gives an airy sheen that gives a more professional tone to my vocal tracks. It works well with other tracks as well bringing that high end shine. This is a must in my book for your plugin arsenal.

I am a song writer & producer here in India. For a long time I was in a search of CLEAN & A MUSICAL EQ for mixing Vocals. One of my friend in Mumbai who is a mixing engineer recommended me Maag Eq4. I was in a little hesitation before buying it but I thought why not give it a try.Wow...!!!! Now my Vocals are cutting wonderfully in the mix. what a amazing EQ this is. Everyone who is a song writer, mix engineer or Producer should have this EQ in his arsenal. Strongly Recommend.

I'm on PT HDX system. This is my default EQ. I love how it sounds and I love that it's NOT graphical. If they ever make a USB powered control surface for it that works similar to the Softube Console 1, I would definitely buy it.

This is a highly useful transparent EQ that is very musical and can be used for mastering or on individual tracks. It works wonders, instantly bringing life, depth, clarity or air to any source, or reducing muddiness or harshness. Due to it's sheer versatility it is now an essential part of my DAW.

I was fortunate to work with the original MAAG EQ, and it really was a secret weapon. When I learned of the plug-in version I just bought it, no demo required. In hindsight that might not always be the best approach, but in this case it worked out fine.I use the EQ4 on almost any track I record live, even if I am only using the Air Band. I also use it on tracks of sampled instruments, but not always. This is not - at least for me - the EQ to use if you are trying to fit a track into a mix. Sometimes it works, but with fixed center frequencies you can only use it so often. And this is not the EQ to turn to for those surgical fixes. There are plenty of other candidates for that role. No, this is the EQ to make things sound better. The center frequencies work almost every time to add something to a track, a little sparkle, a little punch, and little something. This is a musical equalizer, not unlike the revered API graphic EQ. 10 bands, take them or leave them. Sometimes I think the limitations help us do better work, but that's too philosophical for a review. There are very few plug-ins that I recommend to friends because the character of any specific plug-in may suit only my tastes. Music production is very much an art, and that personal preference piece is important.I could recommend this to anyone without hesitation! It sounds that good, and it is that useful. However I don't - I want to be the only kid on the block that uses it - it is my secret weapon!
