    This is the kind of compressor I throw on a vocal If I feel like the vocal isn't intelligible enough throughout the track. It just gives that density compression and saturation that you sometimes need for the vocal to keep it's head up throughout the song. The dedicated density control is really interesting and sometimes even works almost like a "special effect" if you want it to!

    I find this compression incredibly useful for mastering and vocals. I love the depth it creates. I really believe that it can add some nice magic to just about anything.

    ...and allowed to have only one compressor, this would be IT!!!!
    Probably the best digital compressor I've ever used (and I have dozens of high end ones).
    The clipping stage is just phenomenal!! It can do it all, I even use it in mastering now, instead of other "mastering grade" ones...it yields a more concise result. I cannot praise it enough!!

    Working on a new song using this on a piano track certainly does something magical. The U17 can take the harshness out of a piano by compressing it down in a way nothing is lost yet adding color, smoothness, even levels, and transparency yet unnoticeable heavily compressed. It is projecting a tonal quality and character no other compressor I have in my arsenal could achieve for piano. I am glad I took the time to experiment with this plugin as it will be a huge time saver. The tilt EQ is very precise and a real benefit. The U17 is impressive and actually sounds like I am using a real piece of vintage hardware.

    The compressor is now part of my toolbox, mostly used on the mix buss on certain instruments, or vocals. It depends on the material that I mix. And always only a few db's, but the coloring is amazing. Vocals that have recorded poorly or harsh, the U17 is your best friend.

    VERY PUNCHY! not a huge fan of the UI though. All the NEOLD plugins I've tried are very good. This one adds fatness and a little "magic"

    A super versatile compressor with very well thought-out additional features. Can't think of any tone you wouldn't get out of this box. Hardly ever heard a plugin where you feel like you are actually turning knobs on an outboard compressor. When changing the attack time little differences are audible very clearly, the release is super musical and completely artefact-free. Just playing with it is a lot of fun, too !
