    Wow. This is the compressor I've been needing that I never knew I needed until I used it. For mastering or bus compression I can't name a better plugin. I've run the gambit of all traditional compressors and this one for me beats them all. I own almost all the Plugin Alliance stuff and I have to say this one is the first one I've written a review for - for a reason. Just get the demo and start testing it out. It's truly the smoothest compression I've ever heard.

    This compressor is beautiful.
    The aesthetics speak for themselves however you are going to need material you know well playing back on a serious monitoring system to hear what it's doing. Looping a couple of bars of something and then listening to how very specific areas of the frequency spectrum are effected as you go through the various controls will put a huge smile on your face once you hear what its doing ... being this subtle makes it a HUGELY useful end of chain compressor et al.

    Warm silky sound on vocals & piano - really tames the peaks and then some. Love the wide range of attack & release times via the rectifier choices. Want to know how to get 5 stars? How about finer than 2dB steps on the controls - like .5dB or even 1dB and as someone else wrote here a final output level control. Just having makeup gain doesn't cut it. If you're worried about gui space double stack the output level with the mix control. In spite of these things I did buy it and hoping PA or SPL can remedy the issues.

    This compressor offers a lot of control that an engineer could find extremely useful in different situations. For starters, SPL IRON's Rectifier section can subtly change the tonal structure of the signal, therefore, affecting its overall characteristics. 120 Volt Technology allows for precision in terms of gain staging, which is ideal for any dynamic performance. And most impressive yet perhaps overlooked is the Channel Switch. This feature is a tremendous asset as it toggles between active and bypass mode automatically. It can allow one to concentrate on the mix without having to leave their seat. SPL IRON is a fantastic plugin and is one that I would recommend to all of my colleagues.

    Always loved SPL equipment and had to try the demo. Just figured it was another compressor and own enough of them. Took me less than an hour in demo mode to purchase right away. This is an absolutely beautiful sounding compressor and pretty much came to the top of my list of compressors to use. Thank you BX for the nice heavy hitter discount also.

    Well Plugin Alliance and their partners SPL have done it again! This is a fine model of the SPL Iron, a piece of hardware I know well. This example captures it perfectly with the usual selection of tasteful extra features. It is warm and smooth and your mixes and busses will love it! The TMT is really the icing on the cake. The only problem is that Plugin Alliance have spoiled as for choice when it comes to selection. Well done to all involved in this project, a superb job all round!

    Sometimes a plugin just grabs you and says "this is a rare find!" That is Iron. This is an absolutely fantastic sounding compressor with a beautiful interface to match. I love how smooth and transparent it can be with a wide range of styles of music. It has already become one of my favorite mastering compressors. Excellent work!

    Absolut fantastic. You can put this thing on every signal and then feel how the tears run down your cheeks. I beg you to try out the demo and I promise you'll buy the IRON long before the demo period is over. Another bx milestone one can't live without.

    Awesome Emulation , Sounds fantastic ...Been A/Bing with the Uad shadow hills and i must say i think i prefer the Iron , seems to dial in a bit more bite , Digging it in M/S . Stereo width ,Tube and rectifier make this thing a real beast \M/
