Could become my best friend
★★★★★I'd ignored this plugin for a long time, thinking I had enough harmonic generators and distortion plugins (which I have now), but for me, this is different from the rest and easy to dial in exactly what I want, once I'd figured out what knobs did what. I say that, because I didn't find it intuative to start with, I had to keep referring to the manual, maybe it's just me?
It's like having an amazing parallel additive EQ to me. I can choose from the different bands of each harmonic and add as much or as little as I want, especially if using an EQ to try and do the same thing and it just won't work. I've found it very handy to lift bass lines that don't have enough higher harmonic content, so they'll sound better on smaller speakers.
Being able to solo the distortion and/or extra harmonics of both the 2nd and 3rd separately or together is great.
With all these distorters and harmonic generators, don't overdo it unless you're after something that you don't want to sound natural. I personally go for natural sounding and this plugin excels in that. -

The ability to select which kind of saturation are you blending in, not only that but to solo the harmonic generator, and also the sidechain function that allows you to filter the content that you're feeding in... amazing! You can go extra subtle or totally destroy your sound! An essential tool in my arsenal! -

You can be subtle or you can go mad with it. You can solo both sections independently or together, you can process just mid or sides or both, it can be used to eq signals. I love it, and thoroughly recommend it. -

★★★★★The VSM-3 is a must have. I have a variety of saturation and distortion plugins and this does both extremely well, it makes me think of how a hardware saturation box must sound. I reach for it more for saturation, but even then I find myself pushing it because it slides into distortion so nicely. The ability to "blend out" the distortion with the THD Mix makes this the most universal, and versatile saturation/distortion plugin I own. When an instrument needs more harmonic overtones or some grit, I highly recommend having this on hand because it will give you everything you're looking for. If you're new to the saturation market, this would be the best place to start because of it's versatility. -

★★★★★This plugin sounds great. I tried the demo and waited patiently for the plugin to come on sale. it's certainly a beast that requires taming, things can easily get out of hand and it isn't the most intuitive but it has so much vibe and beautiful non-linearities that even subtle settings can make the sound breath and move as if it were alive. my only gripe is that it doesn't have a wet/dry for the overall settings so you really have to check your gain staging and spend some time with it to get the settings you want. I would rate it 4.5 stars if I could but honestly, it sounds wonderful. -

Invest some time learning what this box is capable of and the payback you will receive when your tracks pop will be worth every minute spent.
