As an owner of the original hardware SPL PQ, Plugin Alliance made a unit that truly mirrors the original sound - warm and really analog sounding.

This plugin really adds the ultimate parametric EQ to your in-the-box toolkit. Amazing to have this famous master EQ as a plugin now!

Like most people, I have countless EQ plugins. Generally, EQ plugins are either surgical tools that allow you to fix issues or they are good at “sweetening” and broad stroke enhancement. The PQ manages to allow you to do both and do them incredibly well! Even at really tight Qs, the results are natural and surprisingly transparent which lets you really dig into a mix to solve issues effectively. For problem solving, the proportional Q changes the character in a way that doubles the flexibility and gives you a different way to reach into the mix. On the flip side, widening out the Q or putting it into proportional mode and boosting frequencies gives you the ability to bring out and enhance the best parts of your mix or source in an extremely euphonic way, without putting too heavy a stamp on it. Really, really great!

Since going 100% in the box, the PQ has been the last on my wishlist for mastering EQs. PA has nailed this and the fact I can open multiple instances means I can think broader than just mastering.

The PQ is a fantastic unit and this emulation will be a perfect complement for the PassEQ.

The SPL PQ plugin from Plugin Alliance is, in short, Fantastic. I use the hardware unit every day in my work. This digital recreation is spot on. But even more so. Beyond incorporating the extremely precise EQ and sonic functions of the hardware, this plugin adds features I wish I had on the hardware: Metering, Adjustable HPF/LPF, M/S functions, an adjustable elliptical filter, and a Harmonic Distortion control. Well done Brainworx and Plugin Alliance. Another home run!
