Overview

Developed with the revolutionary bi-amped design, the Gallien Krueger 800RB quickly became the go-to amp for bassists all around the world after its release in 1982. Known for its clean, transparent body and highly regarded for its versatility, the original hardware was used on countless hit records from bands of different genres – ranging from Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Guns ‘n’ Roses, Green Day, No Doubt, and many more.

Officially licensed by Gallien Krueger and developed by Brainworx the 800RB bass amp plugin provides more than just an exacting emulation of the original amp.

The multitool that covers it all
Shape the character of the high- and low-end tone using the separated gain knobs for each 100W & 300W amp to achieve the perfect blend of bass and bite. A whopping four-band Active EQ, together with three GK patented Voicing Filters, helps you to articulate the tone you’re aiming for – from huge bottom-end to growling attack, and everything in-between.

Double trouble – two amps in one design
The bi-amplified architecture of the Gallien Krueger 800RB provides you with two different power amps – one for the lows and one for the highs. The adjustable Crossover Frequency knob allows you to control which frequencies go to which power amp, and each amp has a separate master volume knob, making it easy to dial in the sweet spot for your tone.

2x64 different Recording Chains
Choose between 64 different recording chains to run your bass signal through and select from a variety of highly coveted mics, cabinets, and carefully chosen outboard gear. Due to the bi-amped design, the Gallien Krueger 800RB amp plugin features not one but two separate Recording Chain modules, allowing you to tweak the character of each amp individually, topping it with some useful tools like Phase Invert, Solo, and Auto mode.

After recording the intro bass line we put on the plugin and the bass player and I both went: Wow. Instantly we felt inspired and got creative: And that’s the most important thing.

I'm always coming back to this amp. Although I have other bass amps based on gear developed decades later, this GK still sounds much better than many modern stuff out there.

This is the amp I used a long time ago. I wish I would have kept it until I found this plug in. I just record now and it is so much easier this way.

Fantastic sit in the mix tones. Perfect compliment to PA's Ampeg sims. And if you can only get one, this one is going to be very hard to beat for versatility.

No joke. This can be used on anything. Any genre. Rock, metal, funk, jazz, Scandinavian Folk-electropop. I've even been running my synths and keyboards through it to tighten up the low end.
